The Science and Engineer Apprentice Program (SEAP) at NIWC Pacific offers high school students an 8-week paid summer internship. Participants engage in real-world research in science and engineering, focusing on areas critical to the Department of the Navy's mission, such as Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C4ISR), Space, and Cyber. Students work closely with a research mentor and project team, gaining hands-on experience in scientific and engineering practices not typically available in a school environment. The program aims to encourage students to pursue STEM careers, further their education through mentorship and research participation, and raise awareness of DoN research and technology efforts, potentially leading to future employment within the DoN. Interns contribute to ongoing projects, developing technical and professional skills in a mission-driven environment.
