Campers assemble and take home their own small drone while exploring its real-world applications in various technical industries.
This Drone Engineering Camp provides a hands-on, project-based learning experience where campers delve into the exciting world of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). Participants will assemble and program their own small drone, gaining a practical understanding of drone circuitry and the engineering mechanics behind flight dynamics. The curriculum emphasizes UAS safety and regulations, ensuring campers learn responsible drone operation. Beyond the technical aspects, the camp explores the diverse applications of drone photography and live video feeds across various industries, such as construction, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and civil engineering. Campers will develop critical 21st-century technical skills in a supportive environment, fostering an interest in STEM career pathways.
A typical day involves hands-on project building, learning about drone mechanics and programming, and exploring real-world applications of drone technology.
This camp is ideal for aspiring engineers, inventors, and tech enthusiasts in middle and high school who enjoy hands-on projects and are curious about aviation and robotics.
