The AI-Driven Robotics program at The LEAGUE of Amazing Programmers offers high school students a hands-on experience in programming physical robots with AI assistance. Students will delve into computer vision, path planning, sensor integration, and autonomous behavior. The curriculum emphasizes a discovery-based learning approach, where participants use AI as a collaborator to research solutions, generate and test code, interpret sensor data, and iterate towards working robot capabilities. This is not a prescriptive, follow-the-instructions class; instead, students will tackle real-world problems like robots failing to see obstacles or path planners getting stuck, and utilize AI to understand the issues and devise solutions. By the end of the program, students will have developed a portfolio of robot capabilities they designed and implemented, gaining a working knowledge of key AI and robotics concepts and an understanding of how AI transforms engineering problem-solving.
Students will work with physical robots in the League's Robot Garage, using AI tools to explore computer vision, path planning, sensor integration, and autonomous behavior, with an emphasis on discovery and problem-solving.
